Prologue

Once upon a time, in a land far away is how these stories usually go, right? Stories filled with passion, love, and adventure- a beautiful maiden waiting for her prince who will come and leave with the setting of the sun. He will fight a fierce dragon that keeps her captive inside of a crumbling, yet majestic castle in time where nature and magic were one. My mama would read me these stories when I was younger, each night as she tucked me into bed, and I would dream of my prince and my happy ending.

Summary: Three months have passed since Aang defeated Fire Lord Ozai and restored peace to the world. Despite progress being made, it seems that the world is still reeling from the last 100 years, and with news of Zuko's mother and crops of uprising against the Fire Nation, Team Avatar will have to reunite again in order to truly bring peace to their world.

AN: Sorry I'm lame and decided that my first Avatar fic should be a sequel, like that's never been done before! I powered through the entire series in a matter of weeks and just couldn't leave the universe alone. So here I am, writing my little fic, just so the characters can live for me again. I hope they live a little for the rest of you as well. :) I'm attempting to follow cannon, so cannon pairings apply.

INTRODUCTION

There are a lot of notes I wanted to leave about this story, but I felt it would be inappropriate to include them in the chapters; it's not like the notes are necessary in order to read the story (the fact that people are reading it at all brings me satisfaction enough) and never should be in a good story. But if you, the reader, want to know a little more about the setting of the story, the stylistic liberties I took with the series, and why Minako is an alcoholic, this is for you.
